Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives Initiatives 1 1 Internship Program Date Periodically throughout the year Location Description Titles of Employees Involved Entercom Greensboro Entercom Greensboro offers internships at the radio stations in our Promotions and Programming departments. Interns must be college students and receive college credit for the internships. The Promotions Directors and the Programming Directors oversee the internships to evaluate the interns and ensure they are receiving information and education. Internships are ongoing throughout the year. Twenty seven (27) interns participated in this program. Entercom Greensboro Entercom Greensboro participates in Entercom RAMP Training. RAMP is a comprehensive training program designed to teach the AEs about the company, the industry, the market, the station and solving their client’s marketing challenges. The program consists of 12 weekly training sessions conducted by the Sales Managers of all of Entercom’s stations. After completing the twelve weekly sessions, the AEs become RAMP graduates. Four (4) Account Executives and one (1) Sales Assistant graduated from this program during the annual reporting period. These monthly calls help promote growth and career advancement within the sales department. 4 On-Air EEO Policy and 2 Invitation to Receive Job Openings Periodically throughout the year Entercom Greensboro Periodically throughout the year, Entercom Greensboro airs recruitment advertisements on all stations, seeking applicants across all departments. Advertisements inform the Greensboro area of Entercom’s EOE policy and invite all organizations to be a part of our recruitment process. HR Manager Business Manager Traffic Department 5 North Carolina A&T State University Mock Interviews Periodically throughout the year Entercom Greensboro Each semester, Entercom’s Production Director participates in mock interviews with students at North Carolina A&T University. He helps provide them with practical experience, and coaches the students on how to be successful at a job interview. Production Director 6 High Point University Career & Internship Expo High Point, NC An Entercom representative attended the fall High Point University Career and Internship Expo. The Entercom representative collected resumes and distributed open position lists and business cards to prospective job applicants. Internship opportunities were also discussed. Over 250 students attended the job fair. She reviewed the FCC’s EEO guidelines as well as our internal practices and procedures to ensure a successful EEO Program. The training was facilitated for all EEO Coordinators and shared with management. Station Tours March 10 & March 29, 2014 Entercom Greensboro A Program Director and General Sales Manager facilitated station tours for local Cub Scout and Tiger Scout troops. During the tours, they provided an overview of all departments within a radio broadcasting company. The tour was followed by a Q&A session. Program Director General Sales Manager Greensboro, NC Entercom’s Program Director of WQMG participated in a public speaking event at Jackson Middle School. The Program Director spoke with middle school girls about empowerment, the importance of education, and how to strive to be successful in the real world. She also discussed her job in radio, and the different positions available within a radio broadcasting company. Program Director Greensboro, NC An Entercom representative attended the Career STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Fair at Bluford Academy. The representative discussed the importance of technology in any field. The representative also specifically discussed how technology plays a part in his job duties as a Production Director in the radio broadcasting industry. Production Manager Boone, NC Entercom’s Operations Manager and Program Director attended the 8 Annual Keller Radio Talent Institute at Appalachian State University. The representatives each gave a presentation to a group of young broadcasters on how to prepare themselves for a career in radio broadcasting. The purpose of the event is to network with young professionals with entry level talent and to help prepare for, and expose them to the radio broadcasting industry. Operations Manager Program Director Greensboro, NC An Entercom representative participated in the 2014 Summer Entrepreneurship Institute at Bennett College. She helped striving entrepreneurs develop their “elevator pitch” which is a tactic for explaining a business idea. She judged and provided feedback to the students on how to improve their sales approach. She also sat on a panel to discuss the importance of advertising in a business plan. Account Executive Entercom Greensboro An Entercom Promotions Assistant facilitated a field trip and station tour for students of Guilford County School District who participated in the Falkener Elementary Pilot Summer Camp. The event was offered to students who needed additional support in reading. It provided a foundation to build background knowledge and academic vocabulary. During this event, he also discussed the importance of education as it relates to career paths. Twenty five (25) students attended the field trip. Sales Managers Program Directors Promotion Directors Business Operations Manager WinstonSalem, NC An Account Executive from Entercom served as an industry evaluator for a student sales presentation for a Broadcast Sales Course at Forsyth Technical Community College. The students chose a client and a radio station to research. Based on their research, they presented a 10-15 minute sales pitch presentation to industry evaluators. The Account Executive provided constructive criticism to the students and shared her knowledge and experience as a sales representative in the radio broadcasting industry. Account Executive Burlington, NC Entercom Greensboro held a recruitment fair at the Downtown Depot in Burlington, NC for applicants interested in On Air, Sales, and Intern positions at Entercom Greensboro. A display table was set up with open position lists and business cards. This job fair was also advertised on air to invite the public to learn about job openings at Entercom. Approximately 50 people inquired about open positions at Entercom.
