Christmas Productions 2015
Rehearsals are well under way for the forthcoming Christmas Productions and both Mrs Hardisty and the children are
very excited about the performances. Here are some final details:
Due to limited space in the hall, we are only able to accommodate two adults per child for all the productions.
Phase C Christmas Concert - Thursday 10th December @ 6pm.
Theme: Different religious festivals of light.
Dress code: Black trousers/skirt and a plain coloured top (could be a Fox t-shirt). Feel free to accessorize with
tinsel!
If your child normally goes home at 3.30pm, please can they return by 5.45pm to their classroom, where their class
teacher will be ready to take them down to the hall.
We appreciate that many children have other commitments after school, especially at this time of year, but if you
can re-arrange activities that clash so that they can participate, we would very much appreciate it.
Phase A Production - Tuesday 15th December @ 10am.
Theme: Busy, Busy Bethlehem: A tale of two little soldiers.
Phase B Production - Wednesday 16th December @ 10am.
Theme: Cinderella from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes
Please contact your child's class teacher if you are unsure about costume arrangements!
Table of Delights – theatre for Years 5 and 6
This week Year 6 and Year 5 saw the spectacular ‘Table of Delights’ at the Coronet. They were even lucky enough to
have the theatre to themselves. However, this was no ordinary performance – they were transported on an
interactive journey through the origins of food. They learnt about bread, spice, honey, beetroot and cheese and even
got to have a taste of the food after each act! It was a magical experience filled with flying sharks, singing bees and a
circus filled with cows! They have been talking about it all week!
Here are a few quotes from the children:
‘The Table of Delights was an – out – of – this – world experience!’
‘I was so impressed by the performance. The song ‘Breads of the World’ was my favourite.’
‘I would rate this show 5/5, because in just an hour you will learn about bread, hear the story of beetroot, see
captains sail seas and dance with the queen bee.’
‘The stage was so clever – it was a dining table!’
Violin lessons Tuesday 8th December
Violin lessons WILL be taking place on Tuesday 8th December. These will be last lessons of term.

Weekly Theme – Chanukah
Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Light, starts this Sunday December 6th! The celebration last for 8 days and spreads
a message of peace, love and light.
Channukah is celebrated at home by lighting a menorah (each night we light on additional candle to the number
from the previous night) and playing games with a dreidel. It is also the tradition to eat foods that are deep-fried in
oil, symbolizing the oil from the menorah used in the ancient temple. These foods include latkas, which are potato
pancakes, and doughnuts

His incredible effort in everything he does! What an all-round super

know what a great asset you are to our class! Truly deserved!
Matthew is a star every week! He is incredibly kind and well

that has been especially impressive! We are lucky to have you in

Runa is a star every week! She always tries her best in all lessons
and is an extremely kind, considerate and helpful member of 3B.
This week we were particularly impressed by Runa's formal letter,

amazing work!
Marta has had a fantastic start to her school life at Fox. Miss Flood

approaches each lesson with great enthusiasm. We cannot wait to
see what Marta will bring to the rest of the year!
Matthew has been incredibly dedicated during problem solving this
week and has even taken a problem home to give it more time and
focus. He has shared his approach in class and helped others with
the problem, using great communication to apply teamwork to a
