Leadership 2 0 1 5 — to win a great success PMI Japan Chapter Opening address I am glad that once again, the PMI Japan Forum is being held this year on July 11 and 12. I am deeply grateful for the efforts of everybody who made this possible. I am also very grateful for the support we have received from our forum sponsors, as well as from our members, corporate sponsors and academic sponsors who support the day-to-day activities of the PMI Japan Chapter. As evidenced by the rise in wages, the ‘Abenomics’ economic policy from the year before last appears to have achieved the heartening result of bringing the country out of the long trough of deflation. However, these effects have yet to be seen in small and medium-sized enterprises and outside the major cities, and so there is still a way to go. On the other hand, global competition is becoming increasingly intense, and models that succeed in Japan do not necessarily translate to global success. Organizations must develop strategies that allow them to compete from the start in the global market. For this reason it is necessary to develop businesses that can adapt swiftly to fluctuating markets. For Japanese companies to survive in this global market competition, they must transform themselves faster than other companies. The PMI Japan Forum 2015 has identified “leadership” as the most important factor in achieving innovation in the global environment. Therefore, we have titled the Forum “Leadership”, with the subtitle “To win a great success”. By focusing on the “leadership” that will enable organizations to transform themselves quickly in a highly changeable business environment, we seek to support forum participants who are facing times of stringent global competition. While it may be easy to talk about leadership, many hurdles must be overcome to achieve it. We have invited guest speakers with extensive experience and knowledge, widely from home and abroad to the PMI Japan Forum 2015, to give you an opportunity to learn about global trends. Finally, we have been able to hold the forum without hitch every year thanks to the work of forum volunteers from the PMI Japan Chapter. I would like to thank all the volunteers for their effort. ■ Date 11th-12th July, 2015 Registration… …… Lecture……………… Networking………… 9:30–(11th, 12th) 10 : 00–18 : 05(11th) 10 : 00–18 : 00(12th) 18 : 20–20 : 20(11th) ■ Lecture Gakujutsu Sogo Center, Tokyo, Japan ■ Networking Josui Kaikan(next to the Gakujutsu Sogo Center) Suidobashi Subway Toei Shinjuku Line Shinjuku JINBOCHO sta.
