Job Outline Larbert Basketball Development Co-ordinator Specific Responsibilities Specific Responsibilities Corporate Participate in the management of the basketball development programme Participate on an on-going and regular basis in the practical delivery and operation of the business in relevant areas to support both your own and other teams, and, to maintain regular communication with our members Promote the Health and Safety of employees and members ensuring compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and relevant legislation Assist in providing a quality experience for our members on each and every visit recognising their importance to the business Liaise with relevant external service providers, funding partners and other relevant organisations Adopt a flexible attitude to your role at all times undertaking activities that assist the Company in maintaining a competitive advantage Undertake any other duties as directed commensurate with the job outline Key Accountabilities Increase the number of players participating in basketball in the Larbert High School Cluster Support the implementation of the Larbert High School of Basketball Development Plan Work in partnership with a range of agencies to raise the profile of basketball in the local community Sustain school to club links and ensure a complete pathway is in place Develop and deliver an annual plan of high quality coaching sessions to the School of Basketball, associated cluster schools and local club Key Performance Areas Implementation of Club Development Plan Work with the local club to continuously improve the Larbert High School of Basketball development plan and ensure links to the regional development strategy and other national, regional and local strategies for basketball are referenced Work with the School of Basketball and local club in the delivery of the Larbert basketball Development plan Identify and secure funding opportunities to assist in the delivery of the Larbert High School basketball development plan Increase Participation Ensure links to local cluster primary and secondary schools to create/extend opportunities to play basketball through inclusive programmes within the clubs junior sections for girls and boys Organise, coordinate and deliver programmes and events/festivals to promote basketball and recruit young people to the game Promote the School of Basketball programme throughout the local area ensuring P7 players in the Larbert Cluster are aware of the unique opportunity when they attend high school Support the development of girls basketball in the local area Partnership Working Work with Local Authority and club representatives to ensure the School of Basketball development plan is linked to the LA development plan, the Regional Development Plan and where appropriate represent the School of Basketball on any local development groups Work with Active School Coordinators and PE staff to ensure a strong pathway between local primary and secondary schools and club Work with other LA staff and any other stakeholders who can support the School of Basketball to deliver the Larbert High School Basketball development plan Volunteer Development Support the recruitment and development of volunteers in the School of Basketball and local club Coaching Plan and Deliver high quality coaching sessions in the School of Basketball, associated cluster schools and local club Identify and access coach scholarship opportunities Monitoring and Evaluation, Marketing and Communication Record baseline data on club(s) and school participation Report progress against LA Basketball Development Plan key performance indicators Prepare newsletters and other marketing and promotional material Ensure effective links with basketballscotland’s Membership and Communications Officer to increase the basketball profile in community Monitor and evidence the impact on the attendance, academic performance and behaviour of School of Basketball players Submit Cashback Case Studies quarterly Competencies Communication Skills Clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication both internally and externally Team Working Leadership, motivation and development of teams and partnership working Time Management Identifying priorities and management of processes and outcomes Project Management Development and implementation of effective plans and outcomes within timescales and targets Customer Focus Development and implementation of communication and quality improvement systems.
