GIORGIO BRENNA CHAIRMAN & CEO, ITALY After earning a degree in economics and his MBA in 1986, he became a financial analyst for Zurich Insurance Group; he was later employed by Sottrici Bindi and Waste Management as financial controller and finance director. In 1992, he turned to advertising as financial director of Ogilvy & Mather and contributed to the agency’s reorganization and relaunch. He was entrusted with many tasks for other European offices within the group, and in 1998 he became Managing Director. Giorgio was named Chairman and CEO of Leo Burnett Group Italy in 2005. After only one year, Leo Burnett Italy was named Agency of the Year and won its first Gold Lion at Cannes Festival. In 2007 Leo Burnett Italy placed fifteenth in the World’s Top 100 Creative Agencies ranking, issued by the Shots Creative Report. In the same year, Leo Burnett Italy’s “Underwater World” was the secondmost-awarded worldwide TV spot, and the agency was the first in Italy to be recognized in the history of the Gunn Report. The campaign reached the top 20 in the most-awarded agency table. In 2008, Giorgio was named Chairman and CEO of the Continental Western Europe Region. After that, he was appointed global leader of Fiat and Philip Morris International. In 2011, he won the NC Award for Manager of the Year — one of the most important prizes in Italy.
