Anderson, J D Jr., “Introduction to Flight” 3rd edition, McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1989. Instructor: Prof. Leu Tzong-Shyng (tsleu@mail.ncku.edu.sg) Office hours: Friday 11:00 - 12:00 WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN AERODYNAMICS (II)? High Speed Aerodynamics is an applied science to study: • High speed External Flow: The prediction of forces and moments on, and heat transfer to, bodies moving through a fluid at transonic, supersonic and hypersonic flows. - Lift, drag and moments on the airplanes, missiles . - Aerodynamic heating of space vehicle, reentry of the space shuttle • High speed Internal Flow: Determine flow moving internal through ducts. - Jet engine inlets for transonic, supersonic and hypersonic aircraft. - Ramjet engines. - Exhaust nozzles and thrust of propulsion.
