Pesisir Muara Angke, Kelurahan Pluit, Kecamatan Penjaringan, Jakarta Utara)

Author: Halandevi, Nendy Rizka Abstract:

Mangrove ecosystem has a very important role in the existence of biological diversity to support the balance of the environtment, both on land and at sea. This natural resource wealth was not able to provide prosperity for the community. As RTH in urban areas in Jakarta, the degradation of mangrove forest could directly affect the coastal communities, because its own characteristic that could not be separated from the use of and access to mangrove resources. This study has two objectives. First, to identify the forms of socialecological interactions among the people of

Muara Angke, the private sector, and government in the mangrove forest environtment. Second, to identify the changes arising from the social-ecological interactions Muara Angke community.

The research was conducted in the Coastal Area of Muara Angke, Kelurahan Pluit, Kecamatan

Penjaringan, Jakarta Utara from November to December 2010. The primary data were obtained through questionnaires to the respondents and indepth interview to the informant, while the secondary obtained from another relevant sources. Respondent were selected using stratified random sampling technique to find 50 respondents. The result showed that the type of socialecological interaction occur in a associative and dissociative patterns differentiated by the actors involved. There’s conlict between communities and private sector (PIK). Private sector had a greater authority to use natural resources than the communities. However, the remains associative form of relationship among communities and the government of mangrove forest related to the concept of local wisdom to protect the coastal ecosystem. The effect is the changes in the quality of carrying capacity such as the intensity of flood, wildlife disturbance to residential areas and declining catches of the fisherman as the systemic impact of a series community interaction. Especially in the upstream an downstream of Kali Angke. These conditions prove the hypothesis that “socialecological interactions had an impact on the coastal environtment of Muara Angke”, these changes lead to ecological crisis at the sites.
