Classes will not meet during the final week of the semester (Dec 7 – 12) and there is NO FINAL
EXAM in this class. All assignments, quizzes, and any extra credit work must be completed and
submitted to the instructor by December 4, 2015.
1.
ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. There is no opportunity to make-up missed lab work. If you
miss one lab, you miss material that you will be quizzed on, and you may also miss a quiz on the
day you are absent. Labs start on time. If you leave before the conclusion of the lab you will
receive partial or zero credit. Students are responsible for ALL class-related work regardless of
attendance.
2.
Complete lab exercises independently during lab. When asked to work on a team, each team
member is to think independently to complete the assignment in his/her own words in his/her own
lab manual. To receive full credit you are expected to bring your lab manual to lab. Lab exercises
will be evaluated at the end of each lab. Lab assignments cannot be made up or completed
outside of class.
3.
There are 10 QUIZZES on material covered in the preceding lab(s). Quizzes are given during the
first 20 minutes of the lab period. Makeup quizzes will be given only under extenuating situations
or by prior arrangement with the instructor. Whether or not to permit a makeup quiz is at the
discretion of the instructor. The instructor has the option of choosing a different test format for the
makeup quiz.
4.
If you plan to be absent to observe a religious holiday make arrangements with the Lab Instructor
during the first week of class (University policy). Any makeup lab or quiz must be completed
latest by the end of the week following the religious holiday.
5.
Each student will be responsible for lab equipment/materials and for cleaning up his/her area. No
food or drinks in the lab.
6.
Cellular phones, etc., must be turned off and kept out of sight. Any form of cell phone use in the
class or any disrespectful behavior will reduce your final grade. If you copy or cheat in any way on
any test or assignment, you will fail the assignment and may fail the course. If you miss three or
more labs you will fail the course.
7.
Academic Integrity: Academic dishonesty or disruptive behavior will be reported immediately to
the lab manager. Please familiarize yourself with The University’s Code of Conduct
http://www.fiu.edu/~jms/standards_of_conduct.htm
