RVCC, RUTGERS BUSINESS SCHOOL SIGN TRANSFER AGREEMENT
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) Honors College and Rutgers Business School have
signed a new agreement that will provide for the seamless transfer of RVCC students to the
New Brunswick-based undergraduate business program.
The agreement, which was signed September 15 at RVCC’s Branchburg Campus, will guarantee
that graduates of RVCC’s Honors College are accepted into a Bachelor’s Degree program with
junior-year status at Rutgers Business School, providing they have completed the necessary
requirements and have the appropriate grade point average. Honors College students must
graduate from RVCC with an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Liberal Arts with a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.5.
The new agreement is the first transfer agreement for RVCC’s Honors College.
“Our new Honors College, which was launched this month, is designed to create a pathway for
the high-achieving students to enrich their academic experience and enhance their transfer
opportunities after graduation. This agreement with the prestigious Rutgers Business School is a
great first step in creating transfer opportunities specifically for our Honors College graduates.
We look forward to many more agreements in the future,” said RVCC President Casey Crabill.
The RVCC Honors College is a cohort-based program featuring seminar-style courses that have
an interdisciplinary focus and afford students the opportunity to develop a close working
relationship with their professors. The new program is intended to serve highly qualified high
school graduates who are entering college for the first time.
“This is the first year that the Rutgers Business School undergraduate program in New
Brunswick (RBS-NB) is directly accepting transfer students from outside of the Rutgers
community. We hope to provide students with all of the tools, resources and knowledge
necessary to transition successfully into a high quality, four-year undergraduate Business
program. We are excited to begin opening lines of communication and hope that this
agreement will be a catalyst for future partnerships with neighboring schools as our program
continues to grow,” said Martin Markowitz, Senior Associate Dean at the Rutgers Business
School.
