the Round Table
“Knights of the
Round Table” are

responsible, courteous, respectful,
truthful, and who
show initiative. Each

Columbia Intermediate School nominate
students for this
honor. We are proud to announce that the “Knights of the Round Table” for October are: Lauren Bailey,
Kaitlyn Beauchamp, Aaron Boster, Kayla Estrada, Jules Fink, Rishi Gabbita, Carson Goecke, Ethan Greene,
Leah Kaesemeyer, Devin Swartz, Ellie Wade, and Reese Woody.
KHS Football Person of Impact
Last week before the last home football game, each
Kings football player chose a “Person of Impact;” a
teacher or district employee who has made an important impact on the players life. The players gave
their jerseys to their person of impact to either wear
or display in some way in their classroom. Many of
those selected were seen wearing their special jerseys
around the school buildings on Friday, as well as at
the football game on Friday night. Those selected
were also recognized at Friday night’s game. KJH
Teachers, Mr. Steve
France and Mr. Mike
San Marco were chosen by Kyle Handorf
and Hunter Erfman,
respectively, and
were found wearing
their jerseys on Friday morning.

takes 64 post-it notes to finish one project The students had fun
choosing their colors and patterns.

J.F. Burns Elementary Candy Drive for the Troops
Once again, J.F. Burns Elementary will partner with Operation Thank
You in Morrow to send candy to our troops who are serving overseas.
The candy drive starts Friday, Nov. 1, and ends Monday, Nov. 11. Our
goal is to exceed the 613pounds of candy that was donated last year.
Candy donations can be brought into school. Chocolate can be donated but we ask that no candy in the shape of body parts or weapons be donated. If you have any questions, please contact Hope Cantrall at hopester1709@aol.com. If you have a large amount to donate
(more than your child can deliver to school), you can contact Hope to arrange a time to drop off at her home. In addition to accepting candy, J.F. Burns will also be accepting canned foods, non-perishables, personal care items for both
men and women, twin size sheets and blankets, and travel-size pillows and pillowcases. For more information about
Operation Thank You please visit www.ohiooperationthankyou.org. Let’s show our love and support to our troops!!
It was another great weekend for Kings Athletes! The Kings
Varsity Cross Country teams travelled to Troy on Saturday for
the Regional Meet. Senior Andrew Lake qualified to state as
an individual with his 14th place finish in a time of 16:04. Andrew will be competing tomorrow in the State Championships at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. His division is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. The boy’s team ended
up with a 6th place overall with a 13 point spread between the
fourth place Beavercreek and fifth place Elder. The average
times of the top 5 runners from the teams in 4th –7th place
only had a little over 3 seconds between them. Kristen Sevier
finished 41st with her time of 19:31 being the second fastest
time she has ever ran in her cross country career. It was a
great finish considering her long return from injury.
Kings Knights Football got one more step to their hopes in a
playoff appearance last Friday with a win over Glen Este .
Lastly, congratulations to Stacey Stuart and Alexa Holland for
making Honorable Mention in the Southwest District Girls
Golf All Stars.
