Dear Incoming Student,
The Beta Psi Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity congratulates you on your admission to the
finest public university in the world.
As a consequence of ever-increasing tuition and housing costs, this scholarship is intended
to aid young men like yourself, who have demonstrated leadership in past activities, in their
attainment of higher learning. These funds are earmarked for outstanding incoming freshmen as
well as continuing students at the University of California, Berkeley.
The recipients of this $500 scholarship will be chosen on the basis of their academic,
community, extra-curricular activities and achievements. In addition, recipients will also be selected
in relation to Sigma Nu’s mission statement:
To develop ethical leaders inspired by the principles of Love, Honor and Truth.
To foster the personal growth of each man’s mind, heart, and character.
To perpetuate lifelong friendships and commitment to the Fraternity.
Note, too, that you need not join Sigma Nu Fraternity or any other Greek institution to be
eligible for this scholarship. However, we encourage you to visit us anytime at our House on
Bancroft Way.
