Here at Cliffview things never stand still. We are constantly moving to
improve, grow and create more exciting and innovative ways for our guests
to enjoy themselves. And, we have done a great deal in the past couple of
years. Some of the most important changes and additions for 2014 may have
been in the personnel.
Two years ago, Amy Sellin was recruited to be our marketing director and
has performed beyond expectations. She was recently promoted to Executive
Director of the Resort. These operations include the Lodge at Cliffview, the
Retreat at Cliffview and the Red River Gorge Zipline.
Another important addition to our staff also was brought onboard two years
ago. Nancy Griffin is the Resort Office Manager and has been very effective
handling not only day to day business, but Lodge and Zipline reservations,
weddings booking and scheduling.
Wendy and Jim Blasdell as new Lodge Managers are always ready with a
friendly smile and warm welcome for guests as they check into our very
family friendly Lodge. They also pamper the bridal parties and guests of
the many wedding ceremonies and receptions held at the Lodge or at our
7,000 square foot activity and conference center.
We feel fortunate to have these friendly, competent professionals as part of the
Cliffview staff. They along with all the others members of the Cliffview
“family” have worked diligently to make Cliffview Resort a premiere family
vacation destination.
You too can be a member of this “family”. Stay at The Lodge where guests
can rent individual rooms nightly. Or buy your own little piece of paradise.
Lots and homes are now for sale in our gated community
!

stands for Shaping Our Appalachian Region. Congressman Hal Rogers is the Co-Chair and there is a 15 member executive committee overseeing the design, execution and funding of SOAR. There are numerous working
groups within this program, from Broadband issues to Business Incubation, Infrastructure, Leadership Development, Regional Collaboration to Tourism and numerous others. Nancy attended the workgroup on Tourism
and spoke a couple times regarding tourism opportunities in the Red River Gorge/Natural Bridge area. SOAR
will be instrumental in assisting with business opportunities, networking and possibly some grant money for
tourism and Nancy wants to promote Slade and Red River Gorge for those opportunities as other advocates are
working for other areas in the State.

Did You Know That….
* Swiss steak isn't Swiss, Russian dressing isn't Russian, English muffins aren't English, and chop suey is not Chinese; they're all American.
* The Jerusalem artichoke is not an artichoke, nor does it come from
Jerusalem: It's from America and is part of the sunflower family.
* Sauerkraut is not German, it's Chinese. It was eaten in China at least
