An Update from Cedille Chicago, nfp and
FALL 2014
A LETTER FROM OUR
LEADERSHIP
David Rotholz
Board Chair
James Ginsburg
President
Dear Friends,
In this special 25th Anniversary issue of For
the Record, we share our recent activities
and accomplishments and present a retrospective of important Cedille milestones. We
could not have achieved any of these milestones without your support of our mission.
Earlier this fall, Cedille Records kicked off
our year-long 25th Anniversary celebration.
Through this celebration, we hope to meet
many new friends and strengthen our
relationships with those we already know.
As a nonprofit, Cedille depends on charitable
donations to record, produce, and promote
the work of Chicago’s finest musicians and
composers. Over the years, Cedille artists
have reported how vital working with Cedille
has been to their careers. We also continue
to hear from classical music lovers that these
artists’ music is a treasured part of so many
collections.
In 2015, as we continue our 25th Anniversary
celebration, we expect to release nine new
recordings, maintaining the high output we’ve
established over the last several years. We
hope you enjoy our latest recordings and will
continue to celebrate our 25th Anniversary
with us. Our progress is only possible
because of your support. Thank you!
Warmly,
David Rotholz Board Chair

EXCELSIOR • CDR 90000 148
Fifth House Ensemble
“The repertoire includes a beguiling range of inventive post-minimalist
music and all of it is executed with a combination of tenderness and
vivacious energy. The big headliner, Caleb Burhans’ ‘Excelsior,’ unfolds in
30 minutes’ worth of patiently static harmonies and keening vocals… The
whole undertaking is marked by spirited music-making of the finest kind.”

Lincoln Trio

by Joaquín Turina (1882–1949) in a program of audience pleasing works
blending Spanish dance and folk influences with romanticism and French
impressionism.
