Madison Area Farmers’ Markets that accept EBT
Dane County Farmers’ Market
When: Saturday (7:00am to 1:00pm outdoors, 8:00am to 12:00pm indoors)
Wednesday market on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (8:30am to 2:00pm)
Where: Outdoors Capitol Square & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (Mid April to Early November)
Indoors at Monona Terrace (Mid November to Late December)
Indoors at Madison Senior Center (Early January to Early April)
Bus access: Many routes including 2,4,5,6,7,8 and any route that travels to the Capitol Square area
on the weekend.
Find EBT: During the outdoor market, look for the booth on the corner of State St. and the Capitol
Square (at the foot of the steps). EBT will be available at the Wednesday market on MLK Jr. Blvd,
but the location will vary so please look for signs. At the Monona Terrace, the EBT table is either
outside or inside of the exhibition hall doors where the market is held. At the Senior Center, the
booth is to the left when you enter, next to the administration desk.

Westside Community Market
When: Saturday - April to November - 7:00am to 1:00pm
Where: Hill Farms DOT Building Parking Lot, Corner of University Avenue and Segoe Road.
Bus access: Route 2 which can be taken from the West Transfer Point or North Transfer Point.
Find EBT: Information booth at the market.

Northside Farmers’ Market
When: Sunday year round (8:30am to 12:00pm outdoors, 10:00am to 1:00pm indoors)
Where: Outdoors Northside Town Center Parking Lot by Pierce’s Grocery (May to Late October)
Indoors Empty Storefront near Miekle’s Hardware at Northside Town Center (November to March)
Bus access: Routes 21 & 22 from the North Transfer Point. Routes 2,4,17,20,21 and 22 operate to
the North Transfer Point on Sunday.
Find EBT: Information booth at the market.

Eastside Farmer’s Market
When: Tuesday - April to December - 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Where: Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center at 953 Jenifer Street.
Find EBT: Go inside the Wil-Mar center to the main office where the EBT machine is located.
Bus access: Routes 3, 4 and 38 operate on Jenifer Street; route 6 operates on East Washington Ave.

Monona Farmer’s Market
When: Sunday - May to October - 9:00am to 1:00pm
Where: Ahuska Park, 400 East Broadway, Monona
Find EBT: Look for the information booth at the market.
Bus access: There is limited access with route 16 which operates from the East and South Transfer
Points. The nearest stop is at West Broadway and Bridge Road, which then requires a 1.1 mile walk
to the market.

South Madison Farmer’s Market
The South Madison Markets are operated at various locations and times.
Madison Labor Temple Grounds (1602 South Park Street):
Sunday – May to October – 11:00am to 3:00pm
Tuesday – June to October – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Bus access: Route 5
Novation Center Campus (2500 Rimrock Road):
Monday – June to October – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Bus access: Route 16
Meriter Hospital (2001 South Park Street):
Wednesday – June to October – 3:00pm to 7:00pm
Bus access: Routes 4, 5, 6, 13, 27, 44, 47, 48.
Villager Shopping Center Lot (2222 South Park Street):
Friday – June to October – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Bus access: All routes that serve the South Transfer Point. Routes 5, 44 and 48 all operate directly
on Park Street.

Glossary
SNAP: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) which is
the federal assistance program to provide qualified individuals with assistance to purchase
food.
FoodShare: The name of Wisconsin’s SNAP program.
Quest: The name of the card that Wisconsin FoodShare benefits are put on for users.
EBT: Electronic Bank Transfer or Electronic Benefit Transfer. This is a somewhat universal way
to signify that Quest or SNAP is accepted at a retail or market location.
If you are not sure if you qualify for FoodShare and would like to find out, please contact
Second Harvest Food Bank for assistance in determining eligibility and applying for benefits.
