Sharp Business Systems-Midwest awarded a grant to Junior Achievement of Central Indiana to create the Sharp Print Center, in which students will play the roles of CEO, CFO and other Sharp Business Systems employees while conducting typical daily business. About 100 students from Sand Creek Intermediate will meet with several top executives to celebrate the th opening at 10:25 a.m. on Monday, February 24 at JA BizTown, 74 Street and Keystone Avenue. “Sharp Business Systems-Midwest (SBS) is proud to partner with Junior Achievement. We look forward to using our Sharp interactive display and Print Center technologies to assist in the educational experiences that JA BizTown will bring to thousands of fifth-graders in Central Indiana,” stated Stephen Orander, President of Sharp Business Systems-Midwest. “Students who visit the SBS Print Center in JA Biztown will gain practical experience in the areas of customer service, graphic design and business to business sales/marketing. We are honored to be a small part of such a wonderful student experience.” JA BizTown is a hands-on learning simulation for fifth graders, who operate their own mini-town and act as producers and consumers, working in small groups to run businesses. Students complete several weeks of in-class business curriculum and then spend a full day at JA BizTown, where they earn paychecks, manage their own checking accounts, pay taxes, seek business loans, make purchases and more. Other JA BizTown community partners include Eli Lilly and Co., Indianapolis Power and Light Company, Radio Disney, DEFENDER Direct, FedEx and Fifth Third Bank.
