Audio Units Volvo’s new audio systems are specially designed for the
tough working environment of trucks. Neither bumps nor vibration affect
their first-class sound reproduction. Owing to the DSP system that offers
digital “room simulation” audio reproduction, the sound pattern is constantly
adjusted so that you always feel that you are seated in the middle of the
flow of sound.
Functions for all audio units:
VR 200, 300, 400: 18 pre-selection choices for FM stations, 12 for AM
and 6 for LW. Autostore of 18 FM, 12 AM and 6 LW radio stations.
VR 100: 12 pre-selection choices for FM stations, 12 for AM and 6 for LW.
Autostore of 12 FM, 12 AM and 6 LW radio stations
RDS retains your preselected station when the transmission frequency
changes. EON and TP provide immediate traffic information whether you
are listening to the radio, CD or cassette player. PTY automatically searches
for channels with the type of programme that you want to hear.
On vehicles with Steering Wheel Control (audio controls integrated into the
steering wheel), the driver can easily and safely adjust the volume when
listening to the radio, CD or cassette player. It is also possible to search
for channels, store tracks on the CD player and fast-forward on cassettes.
Speakers The Speakers are specially adapted to suit the various trucks. All
are designed to withstand vibration as well as fluctuations in moisture and
temperature. The bass speakers are installed in the doors, the treble and
intermediate register speakers are fitted in the instrument panel and the
full-register speakers is fitted on the cab’s rear wall.
Aerials Aerials are specially designed
for Volvo’s audio units to provide the
best reception under all conditions.
Trimmable CB aerials that provide the
best possible transmission/reception
are available. There are also aerial
kits for the NMT 450, NMT 900 and
GSM systems. All are developed
specially for Volvo truck models.

Voltage converter Converts
24 volts to 12 volts. Choose between
11 and 19 amps. Does not radiate
heat that can damage the radio or
other equipment. Current-limited to
protect electrical equipment. Shortcircuit proof, can only be connected

Fuel guage calibrator An instrument
for adjustment of the fuel tank sensor
if the truck has been equipped with a
larger fuel tank. Ensures that the
gauge always provides an accurate
reading.
Fuel economy mode A software
function that helps the driver to drive
more economically. A display unit in
the cab shows the average fuel consumption, current fuel consumption
and target-related consumption. The
readout is provided in numerical or
graphic form. An effective instrument
that makes it possible to cut fuel
consumption by altering driving style.
Gearbox oil temperature gauge
A software function that measures
the gearbox temperature. A display
unit allows the driver to check if the
gearbox is at the correct temperature.
Ampmeter A software function that
gives the amp reading, reducing the
risk of operational disruption. Helps
the driver to monitor both current and
voltage. Important information, particularly in the winter or when the truck
is equipped with a large number of
current consuming accessories.
Electronic load indicator A software
function that allows you to read the
front and rear axle loads on trucks
equipped with EBS and air suspension.
Provides continuous monitoring of
load distribution, so reducing the risk
of overloading and incorrect loading.
