Dear  Search  Team:

I  respectfully  submit  my  application  for  the  Superintendent  search  for  Osceola  School  District,

Florida.

I  am  currently  the  Superintendent  for  Orland  School  District  135,  located  in  Orland  Park,  IL.      As  the

Superintendent  of  Schools,  I  have  worked  closely  with  our  Board  of  Education  to  implement  the  1:1   learning  environment  for  students  in  grades  3-‐8,  facilitated  a  strategic  plan  with  our  Board  of

Education  to  focus  on  community  outreach  strategies,  technology  integration,  finance  strategies,  and   teaching  and  learning  opportunities  for  our  students  and  staff.          My  enthusiasm  and  collaborative   leadership  style  has  enabled  District  135  to  once  again  be  leaders  in  education.        I  am  seeking  the   opportunity  to  move  to  Florida  as  my  husband  has  retired  from  the  police  department  and  we  wish

to  seek  residency  in  the  State  of    Florida.

Prior  to  District  135,  I  was  an  assistant  superintendent  in  Hinsdale  School  District  181,  principal  for

Bednarcik  Jr.  High  School  in  Oswego  School  District  308  who  was  responsible  for  opening  two  new   facilities,  assistant  principal  and  athletic  director  in  Yorkville,  a  teacher  in  West  Aurora,  and  a   teacher/High  School  Coach  at  Mooseheart.        My  experience  and  leadership  in  creating  learning

environments  has  prepared  me  to  be  an  educational  leader  who  understands  how  to  prepare  our   children  for  not  only  their  world  today,  but  also  well  into  their  future.

I  am  passionate  about  education.    I  am  a  servant  leader  who  will  focus  on  student  learning  while   pledging  that  all  students  thrive  in  a  high  quality  educational  environment.      I  am  the  perfect   candidate,  as  I  will  lead  with  a  fresh  set  of  eyes  and  collaborate  an  action  plan  that  reflects  the   direction  of  the  Board.    Together,  we  will  enhance  student  learning  and  celebrate  their  success.      I   have  a  proven  track  record  for  hiring  exceptional  employees.      I  am  a  “hands  on  leader”  who  makes   decisions  based  upon  the  evidence  analyzed  within  the  data,  and  that  decisions  are  made  in  the  best   interest  for  all  students.      I  am  ready  for  a  new  challenge  and  I  have  the  relationship  skills  and  ability

  to  move  your  district  forward.

I  have  served  in  two  large  unit  districts,  coached  high  school  athletics,  and  have  created  a  curriculum   program  that  has  exited  26%  our  ELL  population  from  services  bases  upon  recent  ACCESS  scores.      I   work  in  a  diverse  community  and  look  forward  to  the  opportunity  to  serve  in  Osceola.

I  am  an  experienced  administrator  who  is  prepared  to  face  the  many  challenges  in  today’s   educational  learning  environments.      My  husband  and  I  are  looking  forward  to  re-‐locating  as  he   retired  and  we  are  looking  to  move  to  a  new  home.  The  qualifications  and  characteristics  appear  to   be  a  wonderful  fit  for  me.      I  look  forward  to  meeting  the  Board  of  Education.

Sincerely,

Janet  M.  Stutz  Ed.  D.
