The old building of this store is a

Although it was near ground zero, the

public and used for various events, as an
invaluable reminder of the past.

Hiroshima River Cruise
The river cruise starts from a wharf near the A-Bomb
Dome and runs for about 30 minutes. Tourists can
view the city and its seasonal scenery from its rivers.
No other city in
Japan uses
streetcars like
Hiroshima. Many
different models,
vintage and new, run
through the city
streets. Within the
city all fares are 150
yen and streetcars
run frequently,
making it a very
convenient way to
get around.
Hiroshima Hondori Shopping District, just outside the streetcar Hondori
Station, is a busy and lively area with restaurants, boutiques and shops
for jewelry, daily goods, stationery, and miscellaneous knickknacks.
More than 200 shops, from the traditional to the pioneering, fill up the
580-meter arcade. A great place for window shopping too!
Hiroshima is a large city with a population
of 1,180,000. The electronic appliance
district located chiefly in Kamiyacho and
Hatchobori support this population with a
wide array of products, prices and
services.

③ Dipping noodles
for lunch
The standard way to
eat these noodles, a
Hiroshima treat, is
with a soy
sauce-based soup
(that can be made
spicy or super-spicy)
and lots of boiled
vegetables and
roasted pork.
Hiroshima is proud
of its teppanyaki
dishes.
Hiroshima-style
Okonomiyaki, grilled
seafood (oysters,
shrimp, octopus,
etc.), beef, and
other fresh products
are grilled on iron
hot plates, right
in front of
your eyes.
This locally managed store is in the
middle of the Hondori shopping
district and offers Hiroshima specialty
products as well as sightseeing
information. They always have fresh
food products and often hold events
̶a popular place among the locals
as well as tourists.
