(NaturalNews) A study presented at the Days of
Defense Against Environmental Hazards in Russia
has unveiled once again the implicit dangers
associated with the consumption of genetically
modified organisms (GMOs). According to Voice of
Russia , scientists from the National Association for
Gene Security and the Institute of Ecological and
Evolutional Problems discovered that animals fed
GMOs as part of their normal diet eventually develop
the inability to reproduce.
A shocking revelation; the study is one of several
that has identified a link between GMO consumption
and infertility in recent years. And because it was
conducted independently of the biotechnology
industry, it came to far different conclusions than
have most of the studies offered up for mainstream
consumption in defense of GMOs.
Using hamsters as the test subjects, scientists
observed that consumption of GM soybeans, which have never been a part of these creatures' normal
diets, tended to slow sexual maturity and gradually eliminate the ability to reproduce. After several
generations, hamsters consuming the "Frankensoy" eventually lost their innate ability to reproduce.
"We selected several groups of hamsters, kept them in pairs in cells and gave them ordinary food as
always," said Dr. Alexei Surov, one of the authors of the study. "We did not add anything for one group
but the other was fed with soya that contained no GM components, while the third group with some
content of Genetically Modified Organisms and the fourth one with increased amount of GMO."
Dr. Surov and his team then monitored the various groups of cubs, including their rates of growth and
birthing frequencies, and compared their findings to the cubs' diets. After several generations of cubs
breeding with each other, the team observed that those cubs who ate GMOs as part of their diet
eventually became completely sterile.
"[W]e noticed quite a serious effect when we selected new pairs from [the] cubs and continued to feed
them as before," added Dr. Surov. "These pairs' growth rate was slower and reached their sexual
maturity slowly. When we got some of their cubs, we formed the new pairs of the third generation. We
failed to get cubs from these pairs, which were fed with GM foodstuffs. It was proved that these pairs
lost their ability to give birth to their cubs."
Will widespread GMO consumption make future generations
of humans infertile?

An Austrian study uncovered similar harm in mice that consumed GM corn. An immediate
consequence among the mice eating the "Frankencorn" was that their offspring weighed less than
normal, and overall litter size became smaller. After three or four generations, mice who came from
GMOeating parents and grandparents became completely infertile. (http://www.naturalnews.com)

Farmers across the U.S. have also reported infertility among pigs and cows that consume GM feed.
And in India, an investigatory team observed infertility and other serious problems among buffalo that
were consuming GM cottonseed.

I live in central ill. and can't help but notice the how many dead animals that are missing from
the roads. When I was younger the road was always littered with them. evreywhere you would
see dead rabbits, skunks, possums, snakes, coons and coyotes., and driving along at night you
would see many live ones too. I drove from springfield to champaign and came back by a
different route, about an 175 mi trip. I saw 1 dead possum, 1 dead coon and 2 dead skunks and
smelled another. I counted 8 birds, that's not very many. That is another thing, here in the
midwest where they grow all this GMO corn and beans the number of birds are way way down
and you hardly see bees anymore. things are getting bad folks, It's starting with the little critters
and working it's way up the chain to the human size ones. You don't think people like rockefeller,
gates, buffet and the corporate elite eat the same food we do. Like the Georgia Guide Stones
point out "they" want the population down to 500,000,000. Wether it's vaccines, bio-terrorism,
wars, Gmo's, Big Pharma, Big Ag or keeping US from good wholesome food, water and natural
cures, they won't stop trying to kill US off. It is coming down to US or them. Don't let them take
your guns!

I live in Southern Illinois and can verify this observation. I live in a rural area, about
five miles from town, surrounded by corn and soy fields and wooded windbreaks. I
have noticed a huge decline in wildlife in the last three years, mostly in insect
populations. This year, the decline in bees and butterflies in my garden is so extreme
it is almost frightening. It is not a normal thing! I have notice bees just lying immobile
on plant leaves, as if they are too exhausted to fly, very few mosquitos... All I can
think is "depopulation now". This is what all the new "anti-terror" laws are for, I
believe. When the general population finally understands what is being done to them,
there will be global outrage, which the governments are going to have to deal with
while humankind is slowly rendered infertile. This is also why they are storing
unmodified seeds in a giant vault in Norway. Google Svalbard Global Seed Vault.
Once the population has been reduced, they will destroy all GMO crops and replant
with legacy seed stock.

I heard recently that Jeff Smith's documentary on GMO's and some of the research that has
been done - independently of the chemical/biotech industry - that shows the ill effects - is due
out this month. I saw an interview with Jeffrey Smith on the computer Tom Hartman show? (I
think) The studies are out there and need to become part of the national dialogue - everywhere.

Human male fertility has been dropping at an alarming rate since the 1950's. This coincides with
the widespread adoption of our first GMO, a hybridized version of wheat. Einkorn, the natural
version of wheat, only had 14 chromosomes. Emmer wheat, its natural hybrid successor, eaten
in biblical times, has 28 chromosomes. Our modern wheat (around 42 chromosomes, I think)
was developed in 1943 by the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Mexico
City, funded in part by the Rockefeller Foundation. (You've heard of the Rockefellers, right?) In
the wake of WW2, and because world hunger was so widespread, this new wheat was rushed to
the market with no human or animal testing, and has been modified again and again and again
since then. Ou... See More

Seems to be a problem with this study...what 'food' was the control group given specifically? In
order to get an accurate result, the control group would need to be fed non-gmo soy. If the
control group was given a 'normal' diet (whatever that means), and the study groups were given
a GMO-soy diet, it doesn't conclusively show GMO specifically caused the infertility. Soy in
general may be the culprit as has been demonstrated in human subjects, soy can elevate
estrogen levels and decrease testosterone. I would like to see more details of this study.

Normalcy bias. What people don't want to believe, they won't. It's a common
psychological response to danger. It's why so many of the Jews didn't flee when the
Nazis came for them. From wikipedia: "People also tend to interpret warnings in the
most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious
situation."

@robert: You appear to have misunderstood my post. I am vehemently against
putting GMO products in my body. What you put in yours is your business. But if those
whom want GMO labelling use faulty studies to make their point they'll never get
anywhere. Furthermore, I don't like misleading studies whether they are in favor or
against my personal opinions/beliefs. As said in my earlier post, I'd like to see more
details about the study. As it stands now its rife with logical errors.

But I heard virtually the same as this reported at least two years ago. I know science is
reluctant to accept a new idea until it's been around for a century or so but I do believe that it
might be a bit late for humanity if they leave THIS one on the back burner for that long!

Monsanto and their pending review for 2,4-D Resistant corn which will be sprayed with as much

Why doesn't the government just offer free infertility procedures and just get it over with. It's
better to be sterile and otherwise healthy than sterile because of inordinate amounts of diseases
piled on top of each other until it's too late to go back.
