The daily sightseeing tour (optional) Shows the most interesting parts of Helsinki: the historical centre, the Presidential Palace, City Hall, The Parliament buildings, Finlandia Hall and the Opera House. There are 2 stops in the tour: One at Sibelius Monument and, when possible, at the Temppeliaukio Church. Day 5: Stockholm (Sweden) Sightseeing/ shopping during the day and program on ship at the evening. We will pass Konserthuset (the Concert Hall) where the Nobel ceremony is held every year. The tour takes us through the area of Djurgården (the old Royal Hunting Park) and Gamla Stan (The Old part of Stockholm). We will stop at Fjällgatan (”Mountain Street”) to enjoy the beautiful view over Stockholm. We will pass Heleneborg where Alfred Nobel lived and made his experiments with dynamite. We stop in the beautiful park at Ulriksdals Palace with its dramatic history of the little prince Ulrik. At Haga Park King Carl Gustav used to stay in the summer, when he was a young prince. Lovö Church is a typical and beautiful old church in the countryside, with interesting rune stones dating from around AD 1050. The Royal Family lives in Drottningholm Palace today. Drottningholm Palace with its beautiful parks and Chinese Pavilion are on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Tour Duration 4 hours. Viking Tour (optional) The first stop is at an old Viking Bridge named “Jarlabankes bro”, to see some runic stones. The next stop is at an old Viking Parliament, Arkils Tingplats. From there we go to Granby, an important village during the late Viking age (400–500 AD). At Granby we find the biggest rock carving in Sweden – Granbyhällen. The tour then takes us through Lunda on our way to the town of Sigtuna which was one of the main marketplaces of the Vikings. We will have free time to experience the centre of the town with the opportunity for a light lunch. From Sigtuna we will go to Old Uppsala, probably the most historic place in Sweden because of its old Viking parliament and Mounds.
