Janey has extensive experience in construction contracts, providing procurement and contract advice to employers,
contractors and consultants in the construction industry.
Experience in the private and public sectors through practising as a Quantity Surveyor, lecturing and providing
construction dispute consultancy services. Appointments as Adjudicator, Mediator, Arbitrator and Expert Witness.
Expert Witness Appointments in relation to liability, quantum and damages in construction contract claims for
extension of time, loss and expense; contract administration and measurement matters.
Particularly specialises in the roles and liabilities of the design and construction team and has given expert
evidence in relation to professional negligence matters.

Career History
Since May 1997, Janey has been Managing Director of Construction Dispute Resolution Ltd. Prior to that Janey
worked between March 1993 and April 1997, as a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying at Glasgow Caledonian
University; a post that continued on a part time basis until August 2003. From January 1986 until March 2003
Janey was Director of Quantity Surveying with Unick Architects. Janey completed her traineeship as a Quantity
Surveyor with WT Partnership in Glasgow after initially training with John M Simpson & Co in Cumbernauld and
completing the RICS professional examinations.
