B.A.A.C. Bowling
On Saturday, March 1st Bikers
Against Animal Cruelty held
another HUGELY successful
bowling fundraiser held at
Wallingford Bowl. We want
to start by thanking Wallingford Bowl for hosting us,
again, and allowing us to hold
our meeting prior to the
event. Their continued support is priceless to us as we
continue to be the voice for
the voiceless!
We also want to give a thank
you to all the supporters who
came out and helped us
make this event the BIGGEST
and BEST one yet! We actually packed the bowling alley
with over 170 bowlers of all
ages let alone the supporters
who brought donations and
simply hung out to help the
event rock! We also packed
an SUV with food/pet supply
donations as well as forwarded some donations to the
bartender who helps with
another animal rescue! Anyone who was there knows
the alley was B.A.A.C. packed
and lots of smiles, laughs and
memories made. Because of
the success we can continue
making a positive impact for
animals and humans alike. It
is still yet to be deterimined
as to who had more fun: the
kids or the BIG kids (aka
adults)!
So while a lot of fun was had
we have to share the winners
who scored beyond and
above the others. The nice
thing is anyone who has followed the event over the
years will know that some of
these names are actually repeat winners and we love
these return bowlers who
help rock the event year after
year! Maybe YOUR name will
be here next!

A Message from the President
We are pleased to announce some changes
in leadership at Bikers Against Animal Cruelty. After 6 years serving as President, Cindy Peregolise and Vice President, VJ
Peregolise made the difficult decision to
step down from their respective positions.
S P R I N G

Cindy and VJ started this organization with
their very first meeting in Septmber 2007
with just a handful of friends and a vision
to combine their love of motorcycles and
animals to raise awareness, educate and
provide financial support to abused and
neglected animals in need of vet care that
otherwise may not be able to get.

“The greatness of
a nation and its
moral progress can
be judged by the
way its animals are
treated.”
Fast forward 7 years later and we have a
group that has tripled in size, helped hundreds of animals across the country and
continue with the mission.
With the mission in mind, Cindy and VJ felt
that they had taken B.A.A.C. as far as it
of B.A.A.C. since the beginning and already
has settled in quite well to her new role.
Our Vice President, Greg Belcher has been a
B.A.A.C. member a little over a year but immediately jumped in to be an invaluable
member of the team. Besides B.A.A.C.,
Greg works with a rescue group and has
helped connect homeless animals with new
families. We are thrilled to have Greg on
board. That left a position open for Treasurer and John Kish, long time B.A.A.C. member
stepped up to the plate. Lucky for him he
has a wonderful trainer to show him the
ropes of handling the B.A.A.C Treasury,
through long time partner, Jan Lewis. 2014
brings the year of change. You will see some
additions to our schedule and some new
approaches in how we spread our mission to
the world. We want to once again thank
our founders Cindy and VJ Peregolise for
their tireless efforts through the years.
They are only stepping down and certainly
not out. If you see them at an event please

new life into the organization. In March,
2014 Cindy and VJ lead their last meeting

of President. Jan has been a vital member

grateful.

Bella
The newest addition to our family,
Bella, 6 years old, 12 lbs. She had to
have surgery, which became more
complicated than they thought it
would be. The doctor thought she had
a tumor and it ended up being fat had
grown around a hernia. Making it look
like a tumor. Thank goodness it was
not cancer. Because the hernia was so
large all of her organs got pushed
around. The Vet had to actually
search for them and untangle them

A monetary donation was made to assist in vet bills for
Maxy. His nails are overgrown and ingrown and his
pads are severely infected. More than half of his body
is hairless and irritated. His ears are severely infected
and his teeth are completely rotten. His tongue hangs
out the side of his mouth. He is not neutered and cries
if he if not being stroked.
A monetary donation was made to help with vet
costs for Princess who was found abused and
suffering from a broken leg gone untreated.

It's truly unbelievable how far this dog has come from when he was first rescued. He was in horrific
condition with severe demodectic mange, a severe secondary skin infection, emaciated/
malnourished, upper respiratory, his ears were home-cropped (hacked) by his original owner/back
yard breeder and basically lived a life of neglect since a baby pup. We think he was approximately 8
months when pulled from a NY high kill shelter in the nick of time. He’s approx. 6 yrs now, neutered,
vaccinated, house trained, obedience trained and has travelled a long road to get healthy again,
thanks to his original foster mom. Once he started to feel better, we noticed that he liked to be the
only pet in a household. He is on the smaller side weighing approx. 45lbs, very active and very muscular now. Frisbee is his favorite activity and he would make a great running partner. An experienced
bully breed owner who will set boundaries for him would be preferred. His adopter should be committed to maintaining his training and making sure he knows he is safe and loved, yet not the leader
of the pack! His current owner is no longer able to care for him the way that she wants to and that
he deserves. If you feel that Lucky is the right guy for you, please contact SamantaDiVito@gmail.com. for further info.

they are getting use to you as you get use to them.
Congratulations you have adopted a rescue dog! You’re
now in the parking lot waiting for the transport to drop
off the new family member or you’re leaving the pound.
There are more things such as introducing them to the
other pets and food but the most important is keeping
them from running away and making them feel loved.

This is an example of the many abused and neglected animals that B.A.A.C. has been able to help by making financial contributions towards their care. These before and after photos are nothing short of remarkable. We would like to thank everyone for
their support, without it we would not be able to help animals in need. Thank you!
Here are some do’s and don’ts if you are a first time rescue parent and a good refresher if it’s been awhile.
You have fallen in love with a picture or dog you met for a
few minutes you know nothing about this dog and this
dog knows nothing about you. All this dog knows is every time he turns around he has been put in a vehicle and
dumped in some new place he is skittish and scared and
will bolt at the first opportunity. If you are at the
transport they will put a slip lead on the dog. DO NOT
REMOVE THIS until you are safely in your house. If it is to
short attach another leash to the hand end of it. If you
are at the pound put a choke collar on. When you get
home from the transport put a choke collar on before you
take the dog out of the house. Those cute non choke
collars look nice but most dogs can slip their heads out of
them before you can stop them and the chance of you
getting the dog back after that is slim. Look at the lost
posters all over Facebook that happened just this way.
Until your dog is trained and knows you and the area a
choke collar is a must.

Whatever name you have in your mind the dog doesn’t
know it. They had one name in their first home and possibly many more in shelter and foster care so be patient
give them time to learn their name with gentle pets and
treats as you say it.
For the past few months and maybe longer every time
this poor animal has been put in a vehicle it’s whole life
has been changed. It takes them time to get use to you
and the fact that this is their new furever home do not put
them in a car or take them for a trip for a minimum of a
month or longer if possible they are scared they are being
taken somewhere to be dumped. I waited at least 2
months with each of mine and they were hesitant to get
out of the car the first few trips. Sasha my husky took 8
trips before I didn’t have to help her out of the car. Remember they need to learn to feel secure with you and
your family so go slow with them.
