POSITION DESCRIPTION Operations Manager Southern Economic Development Council Position Summary The Operations Manager has duties across most aspects of the association including, but not limited to, membership relations, communications, accounting, meeting planning, and assisting the President. He/she serves as an integral part of the association as the frontline contact for members. Candidate should be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and rapidly changing priorities. In addition, strong communication and diplomacy skills and a polite demeanor are essential. Position reports to the President of the Southern Economic Development Council. Education/Experience Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years experience as an assistant or in a similar position with an association requiring operational duties. Or an associate’s degree and five years experience as an assistant or in a similar position with an association requiring operational duties. Compensation $44,000-$47,000 annually Benefits package including an IRA, insurance (life, health, and long-term disability), cell phone, paid holidays, and sick leave Key Duties and Responsibilities Manage all accounts receivables and payables. Serve as the frontline contact for members. Assist with meeting and conference planning, including registration, development of collateral materials, coordination with conference hotels, onsite logistics, and local conference committee coordination. Perform administrative tasks for the Community Development Council. Manage membership records. Serve as staff liaison to the communications, Young Professionals, and membership committees. Manage membership recruitment and retention activities. Manage the SEDC office. Manage the SEDC website, including job postings, event web pages, educational content, and board resource pages. Travel 3-4 times annually for SEDC-related meetings and events. Execute communications plans for membership development initiatives and events.
