Philosophy 4610 – Midterm Guidelines The mid-term exam will be given Thursday, February 28 in class. You’ll have 70 minutes to finish all three sections (but you probably won’t need that long). The material for the exam is drawn from texts, power point slides, and lectures. Section 1 (10 points): 5 QUOTE IDENTIFICATIONS. The quote identifications will be brief quotations drawn from the texts (and movie) we’ve read (and seen). Each one is worth 2 points total. You will have your choice of 5 (out of 7) to answer. Your task is to: -Identify the TEXT from which the quote is drawn (1 point) -Identify the AUTHOR of the quote (1 point) Section 2 (20 points): 5 TERM IDENTIFICATIONS For the term identification, you will be asked to briefly define the term and explain its significance in the texts we’ve read in an answer of no more than 2 sentences. Each one is worth four points. You will have your choice of 5 (out of 7) to answer.
