Dept of Sports Development JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Reporting to: Hours: Location: TeamBath Netball – Assistant Coach Head Coach TeamBath Netball Programme Sports Training Village, Claverton Campus, Claverton Down, Bath, BA2, 7AY Job Purpose To deliver netball coaching and development at the University of Bath under the guidance and direction of the Netball Head Coach. Duties and Responsibilities: Student Netball To support and manage the introduction of an intramural league, departmental league and fastnet league in conjunction with the Student Union Sports Association. To support the coaching of the student club and mentor other team coaches within the club. High Performance Programme Support and assist the Coach delivery to athletes on the High Performance programme. To provide coaching to the Superleague and NTL squads. To liaise with the Head Coach in producing a support services timetable for athletes, to include video analysis support, sports therapy and medicine, athlete lifestyle etc. To take a lead role in the delivery of Coaching to the NTL and Premier league teams as part of the pathway for athletes on the Netball programme. To help co-ordinate a matchplay schedule for the programme to include groups such as British colleges, English Universities etc. Development and Performance Pathway To support the recruitment of athletes onto the programme by running Netball Taster days, TeamBath roadshows and other related events. To support the work of the Regional Excel Head Coach in working with talented players across the region to engage them within the Performance pathway. Support the Head Coach in the introduction of the first TeamBath Netball Coach Education programme. Marketing To maximise the opportunities for positive public profile of the netball squads, England Netball and the University. To support the work in attracting commercial income to investigate additional funding opportunities for athletes and the programme. To be responsible for the TeamBath Netball roadshows throughout the year and across the region, including the administration and delivery. Other Proactively engage with other performance coaches within the STV in order to learn from experienced coaches in other sports. Undertake a planned and agreed programme of CPD, including attendance at internal and external meetings and courses to keep abreast of best practice. Attend, contribute and provide regular reports at appropriate meetings associated with the programme to key stakeholders. Any other duties deemed reasonable by the Head Coach.
