APUSH Early National Period LAP
LAP: Learning Activity Packet
Next week we will be studying the first three Presidents of the United States.
Because you listened to me talk so intently this week, and because it allows you to
personalize your instruction, class next week will be entirely centered on YOU! This
means YOU will be in charge of your own academic destiny. If you choose to sit around
and pick your nose all week, that is your business and you’ll have to face your own music
when grades go out.
So you probably want to know how a LAP works. Fair question. Below, you will
find a list of activities that you must complete with scores of “C” or better in order to get
credit. You will also find a list of activities that you MUST complete to get C’s, B’s, or
A’s respectively, if you do NOT earn a grade of “C” or higher, you will NOT get credit
for doing the activity. You will either have to re-do the assignment, or choose another.
You may NOT re-take a multiple- choice quiz. If you fail it, you have to write an essay.
This LAP is DUE on Friday October 30th at or before 9:40. You will have
THREE class days to work on this project in class. After that you are on your own!
REMEMBER, I DO NOT TAKE LATE WORK. Come to class prepared to accomplish
something! No Ifs, Ands or Buts. If you are not at school the day your project is due, it
must make it to me! Unless I get a doctor’s note that says you are dying, I will take off a
LETTER GRADE for each day it is late. I am NOT joking. If you must be absent, e-mail
it to me, or send it with a friend.
Hint: Don’t wait until the last possible moment to turn in your work. Turn it
in early so I can grade it, and you can make sure you earn a passing grade.
