American International School of Budapest Job Description High School Extended Essay Coordinator Job Title: High School Extended Essay Coordinator Grade 11/12 Stipend: $1,000 Job Aim: The overall role of the coordinator is to oversee the IB diploma students extended essay work and to support and guide individual teacher / supervisors through the extended essay process. With the IBDC, introduce G11 students to the Extended Essay requirements Roles: 1. 2. 3. 4. Leading the launching, timing, supervising and coordinating of extended essay within IB Liaising with designated subject specialists across the hexagon Linking with initiatives across the school to promote extended essay skills Linking and communicating with teaching staff, students and parents to create and communicate efficient systems Job Duties: With the IBDC, maintain & update the AISB Student EE Handbook as required Supervise at least one student EE Advise & support students in the selection of topic / area of interest Liaise with teachers as potential supervisors of EE students, and allocate students appropriately Liaise with the school Librarian to develop & promote the use of research resources & tools for EE Maintain a database of current student choices on EE Advise & support students in aspects of Academic Honesty relating to the EE Support & monitor student progress with EE deadlines along the agreed timeline for EE Advise & support supervisors with appropriate strategies for guiding student progress on EE Publicise & promote developments in the EE e.g. electronic upload, World Studies essay, etc. to teachers & students Review essays & identify any areas for potential improvement before final submission Communicate any concerns or potential problems at any point to IBDC and parents as necessary School Division: High School Reports To: IB Diploma Coordinator
