You have almost completed your essay. This step, writing the final copy, is very important. This is how your work will look when it is finally judged and graded, so it is very important to do a neat and complete job on this final copy.
After you complete editing your rough draft, begin a neat final copy of your essay. Then proofread your final copy for errors. Keep the following tips in mind when you complete this copy.
Use standard-lined white paper
Use your best penmanship.
Write in dark blue or black ink. (Draw 1 line with a ruler through the occasional mistake - no more than 3 per page)
Write your correct heading in the upper right-hand corner of page 1.
Center the title on the first line
Skip a line and start your essay.
Do not skip lines in the body of the essay.
Indent the first line of each new paragraph 1 inch.
Use the left and right hand margins indicated on the paper.
Skip the last line on each page.
Write your last name and page number in the upper right-hand corner of every page after page 1.
Assemble the pages in order and staple in the upper left hand corner.
Use standard white computer paper.
Use an easy-to-read font. (Such as Arial or Geneva not blackmoor or brush script )
Use a 12 or 14-point type size.
Use black ink.
Include your correct heading in the upper right-hand corner of page 1.
Center the title on the first line
Hit return 2 times and start your essay.
Double-space throughout your essay. (Do not hit return at the end of every line, after you finish typing: highlight the essay; go to format; paragraph; spacing; double)
Indent the first line of each new paragraph 1 inch. (Standard tab setting)
Maintain a 1-inch margin around each page. (Standard document setting)
Include your last name and page number in the upper right-hand corner of every page after page 1.
Assemble the pages in order and staple in the upper left hand corner
You’ve done it! You have completed your assignment. Now all that is left to do is put the finishing touches so that your paper will look its absolute best .
