Field Hockey
The St. Mary’s Annapolis Lacrosse & Field Hockey
Scholarships are made available through an
endowment by the St. Mary’s Annapolis Lacrosse
& Field Hockey Association., a non-profit
corporation committed to providing opportunity,
education, and enjoyment of girl’s lacrosse and
field hockey. These scholarship awards offer
female high school seniors an opportunity to pay
for a portion of their expenses in college for one
year.
The scholarship(s) will be awarded annually to one
or more high schools seniors who have
participated in the St. Mary’s Annapolis Lacrosse &
Field Hockey program. They may have
participated in one or both sports to qualify.
Successful candidates will have achieved
distinction in academics, leadership and
extracurricular activities. Scholars select their own
institutions, field of study, and extracurricular
activities. The scholarship money will be used as
they deem necessary. It is an award for the
student (s) excellent achievements throughout
their high school years.
2014
High school seniors interested in this Scholarship may apply during their senior year using the application form. Forms
are available from the Athletic Director and/or Coach at their High School. Additionally, the application can be accessed
from our web site at: www.stmaryslax.org. Students should submit the application form and individual Curriculum Vita
or Resume, along with an official copy of the high school transcript. Include with the application, a typed essay
(approximately 500 words) on the topic stated and attach a recent photo with the essay. Each applicant should request
three individuals to serve as their references. References should complete a Letter of Recommendation supporting the
student’s accomplishments in any of the areas in which the student has been involved. Applicants must meet the basic
requirements specified in the NCAA Div I eligibility rules (www.ncaa.org/eligibility/cbsa/academic.html). Applications,
transcripts, and reference recommendations are due to the Scholarship Committee no later than March 1, 2014 at:

The St. Mary’s Annapolis Lacrosse & Field Hockey Scholarship Committee will make a preliminary screening
of all applicants in March and the successful applicant will be notified by mail of their selection. The award
typically will be presented as part of the St. Mary’s Annapolis Girls Lacrosse Blue/White Day Celebration in
at the beginning of the lacrosse season.
