Senior Accountant Brown Bag Films are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant who will be a key member of the finance team responsible for accounting of all operations for a successful International company in the creative/media/animation sector, in an organisation with an excess of 120 staff, located in Dublin and Los Angeles. This role would be responsible for the delivery of good quality information and analysis to the Finance Manager, informed by a deep understanding of the business. Job Description: Prepare monthly management accounts and complete monthly closings for internal reporting by deadline. Oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance team. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of controls and procedures. Analyse and document revenue and expenditure variances & trends monthly/quarterly/annually. Maintain financial forecasts, reflecting up to date business inputs. Prepare financial compliance reporting for statutory and client audit. Manage the Company’s Treasury activities, including cashflow, while assisting in establishing corporate policies and direction with respect to Treasury related matters. Assist in completion of the rollout of a new accounting system, promoting and embracing a culture of continuous improvement . Drive accountability and results. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER FUNCTIONS – Close working relationships will be required with other internal departments in order to understand key operational considerations and provide value added analysis and support. In addition to stakeholder management from a compliance perspective, the successful candidate will also be expected to build high trust relationships with customers within which an effective and collaborative process of performance reporting takes place KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A recognised Accounting Qualification with 3+ years of post-qualification industry experience is critical for this role Ability to analyse financial data, prepare financial reports, statements and projections The ability to engage with all levels in the organisation will be important supported with strong verbal and written communication skills An effective relationship builder with a clear understanding of the role the Finance Function provides for the business Track record of successful team management Must have excellent judgment and exacting professional standards, with a diligent work ethic and a keen eye for detail Prior experience working with a mid-tier accounting system would be a strong advantage Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills Confident self starter, with ability to work on own initiative & to work to tight deadlines within a fast paced and ever changing environment.
