Candidates were selected from nearly 3.3 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2016. Inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, now in its 52nd year, is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Community Health and Wellness Education Series Last Updated: February 23, 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists Last Updated: March 1, 2016 The National Merit Scholarship Program has now determined which of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2015 have advanced to Finalist standing in the competition. The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District is proud to announce that Stephanie Braddock of North Hunterdon High School and Daniel Shea of Voorhees High School have been named Finalists. Finalists received A Certificate of Merit. The National Merit Scholarship Program will select approximately 7,400 Merit Scholarship winners from the group of more than 15,000 Finalists. Among The Best North Hunterdon & Voorhees Among Highest Performing Schools in the State As part of its waiver for No Child Left Behind, the New Jersey Department of Education has listed the lowest and highest performing schools across the state. North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools were included among the Highest Performing schools in New Jersey, the only schools listed from Hunterdon County. North Hunterdon & Voorhees Rank Among Top Schools on Washington Post List Voorhees High School has launched a new initiative called the Community Health and Wellness Education Series, open to all parents/guardians, students, community and staff members in the North Hunterdon-Voorhees high school district and its sending elementary districts. The purpose of the Education Series is to highlight topics that are currently affecting students and to educate parents, students and community members on how to deal with these important issues. Out of the 2,025 schools ncluded in the list, North Hunterdon ranked 809 and Voorhees anked 1,135 overall. Out of the 121 New Jersey schools ncluded in the list, North Hunterdon ranked 20th and Voorhees anked 39th. North Hunterdon and Voorhees Rise in Rankings n New Jersey Monthly Both North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools rose in the ankings of the top high schools across N.J., according to New Jersey Monthly, September 2014. Voorhees ranks 44th, up from 48th in 2012, and North Hunterdon ranks 45th, up from 66th in 2012. On the 2014 list, 339 public high schools were included.
