Chapter 11 (193-206)
1. Pecola has now created her own imaginary friend as she feels so alone. This is another example of a
narrative technique used by Morrison. What does this technique allow Morrison to do?
2. Reading between the lines: in this imaginary conversation we learn a lot about Pecola and what has
happened to her. Explain each of the following:
