whether he means the reader to feel sympathy or disgust toward each character, & explain why.

slave-owners. In a well-organized essay, compare/contrast Douglass’ descriptions of the two
groups. How does he use dialogue, physical descriptions, and anecdotes (personal stories of
violence) to characterize each group?
