And who is committed to returning service back to the community. All qualified students may (re)apply annually for the scholarship after 1st time applicants are considered (even if the student has previously won the award). The properly completed application package will consist of the following: An application which must be completed in its entirety and submitted via email or postmarked by April 30th. An essay not less than 150 - 200 words regarding "Why I should receive the NAACP Service Scholarship." Include in the essay: Name, date of birth, high school presently attending, graduation date, what institution do you plan to attend, planned course of study or major, academic honors, participation in extra-curricular activities, Participation in volunteer/community activities and athletic accomplishments, special talents, interests, hobbies: Must have parents name, address and a working phone number One letter of recommendation. Attach an official school transcript and the recommendation from the school official to this application. The committee will review all applications and select awardees. The committee will notify the winner. The scholarship will be presented to the winner after (s)he has submitted proof of their graduation from high School or enrollment in some form of post secondary educational institution. Have a scholastic average of at least C+ (2.5 GPA). B. Be matriculating towards a high school diploma or its equivalent C. Has demonstrated leadership, volunteerism, service to the community in his/her life. D. Use the scholarship at an accredited college, university, or other post secondary professional or technical training institution E.
