HUMAN RELATIONS INP 1390 (Formerly offered as SOP 1602) COURSE DESCRIPTION INP 1390 Human Relations (3) (A.A.) This course meets Area III only for the A.A.S./ A.S. general education requirements in limited programs. This course deals with human relationships. It provides a practical foundation for personal productive functioning in the work environment. Fundamental principles of human relations are developed through an investigation of individual behavior and the social forces acting on individuals and applying these principles to daily and working life. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The student, at the successful completion of this course, should be able to: 1. Design an overall perspective of how human relations/organizational behavior applies to all areas of society and the work force. 2. Develop insight, sensitivity and improved understanding of people in organizations through the use of human relations/organizational behavior techniques. 3. Identify and describe the major historical concepts and practices of human relations/organizational behaviors. 4. Identify and describe the major current concepts and practices of human relations/organizational behaviors. 5. Analyze and demonstrate the use of class and text knowledge by self-behavior in experimental classroom work groups. 6. Demonstrate effective understanding and solutions to relevant human relations problems discussed in the text through class discussions and interactive group work. 7. Demonstrate analytical abilities and problem solving skills through case analysis. 8. Demonstrate analytical abilities and problem solving skills through the use of personal events analyses. 9. Evaluate the strengths, limitations and future directions of human relations/organizational behavior techniques. 10.
