WELS Brass Festival is an annual event that is designed to help musicians learn how to bring brass music into corporate worship. Each year a theme is chosen and specific music and composers are studied. The event rotates through regional, national and international festival events. WELS Brass Festival 2009 – Regional WELS Brass Festival 2010 – International WELS Brass Festival 2011 – Regional WELS Brass Festival 2009 – National Soli Deo Gloria Brass is a group of WELS musicians who gather about three times a year to learn new brass repertoire and to delve into the rich music legacy of the Lutheran church as it relates to brass ensembles. While large brass ensembles allow musicians to perform significant musical literature, there have been trumpet ensembles, horn ensembles and small groups. This is an area that the group intends to expand. If you would like to support the SDG Brass you make send a check to: SDGIA, P.O. Box 2092, Waukesha, WI 53187-2092. Write “SDG Brass” in the memo. The Soli Deo Gloria Brass goes out three times a year to area WELS/ELS churches to share their God-given musical talents during worship services. Since the group is promoting the use of brass in worship; because we want to share our talents at our own churches; and because brass is most often used in festival worship, SDG Brass does not accept invitations on holidays. To request to have the SDG Brass at your church contact the conductor at CornetPat@aol.com or 414-643-5116
