Objectives
I am studying towards a degree in Viticulture/Enology and am seeking an internship that
will allow me not only experience, but education. In a field such as grapes and wine,
hands-on training could replace years of classroom education, and I want to gather the
knowledge to be successful in future endeavors. My job availability is for the summer of
2010 at this time; I am willing to work any hours and days. I am a team player and an
enthusiastic worker and, if hired, I will pull my weight and do allotted duties.
Work Experience
Summer 2009
Home Depot
Tumwater, WA
Gardening Center
During college summer break, I worked full-time in the Garden Center. Responsibilities
included customer service, managing the cash register, and tending to general plant
needs. This gave me a hands-on experience with plants that supports my studies.
Fall 2008
WSU Tukey Orchard
Pullman, WA
Landscape and Orchard Maintenance
For the Fall Semester of 2008-2009, I worked for the WSU Tukey Orchard. This job was
challenging for the mind and body. In the Orchard, I picked fruit for the weekly fruit
sales, and took part in winter pruning. I also worked the cash register for sales and
educated people on the large variety of apples offered at the Orchard. This afforded me a
window into my future as a Viticulturist.
Summer 2008
KELA/KMNT Radio
Centralia, WA
Side Kick
During the summer before my college freshman year, I worked for KELA/KMNT. At the
radio station I participated in numerous parades, decorated the KMNT pick-up truck, and
took part in public relations. This alerted the community about a new radio station in
town, while promoting local businesses through advertising and enhanced regional unity.
2006–2008
Papa Ray’s Cafe
Centralia, WA
Hostess
During high school, I held the position of Hostess at Papa Ray’s. I helped ensure a
positive dining experience for the customer. I took care of the customers while the
waitresses were busy, and cleared tables after the customers had finished their meals. I
learned many important skills including communication, operating a cash register, and
how to work under pressure during peak business hours.

Education
2008-Present: Washington State University
I am studying Viticulture/Enology so that I can one day own a vineyard and winery of my
own. Studying Viticulture/Enology requires many horticulture classes with a variety of
topics. My studies not only consist of how to care for a plant, but also yield management,
pest control, and pruning.
2006-2008 Centralia Community College
I attended the Running Start Program during my last two years at WF West High School.
Here I earned basic college credits, while earning a high school diploma. Running Start
helped develop the discipline and time management needed to be successful in college.
Sept. 2005-June 2008 WF West High School
At WF West I graduated with scholastic honors for graduating with a 3.77. I was awarded
numerous scholarships including a WSU academic scholarship and a scholarship from
the Chateau Ste. Michelle. During my time at WF West, I played tennis and played in the
Symphonic Band. In Band I help numerous leadership positions.
Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at WSU
As Philanthropy Chair I managed all philanthropic activities within the WSU Greek
system. In 2009 we raised over $1,500 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. As
Membership Education Vice President, I oversaw programs to improve academic skills,
and courses on alcohol awareness and self defense. Sorority leadership positions require
timely and accurate reporting, and strong communication skills.
