RE:
UPDATE – November 3-4 IEF Workshop in San Francisco
Page 1 of 4
In three weeks, the IEF will gather in San Francisco for a workshop event hosted by
ChevronTexaco and co-sponsored by Occidental Petroleum. We encourage you and members
of your management team to join us for this exciting look at cutting edge programs of
leadership multinationals for operating beyond compliance.
You will be joining IEF Senior Corporate Delegates representing Alcan Inc., Dow
Chemical Company, Cargill, ChevronTexaco, Eastman Kodak Company, General Motors
Corporation, Hewlett Packard and Company, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Occidental Petroleum
Company, Petroleos Mexicanos, Pfizer Inc., Roche, and Seagate Technology. Participating in
the workshop will be Dr. Alan D. Hecht, formerly of the White House Council on
Environmental Quality (CEQ) and current Director for Sustainable Development in the EPA’s
Office of Research and Development and Dr. Gilbert S. Jackson of the U.S. Agency for
International Development’s Global Bureau, both longtime friends of the Center.
Delivering keynote remarks will be the Honorable Laura Yoshii, Deputy Regional
Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Region IX. Mr. Robert Dunn, Chief
Executive Officer of the San Francisco-based firm Business for Social Responsibility, will also
be joining us as a special guest speaker on Day II.
You will hear invaluable case studies from the automotive, consumer goods, electronics,
petroleum and pharmaceuticals sectors in response to the unprecedented management
challenges precipitated by post-September 11th security concerns, increasing external
stakeholder scrutiny, and in the context of a global economic slowdown.
If you have not already done so, please take the time today to complete and return the
attached registration form, or by the Monday, October 20th deadline. We look forward to
welcoming you to San Francisco.
