measurements.
Project - internal
Internal assessment in mathematical studies SL is
an individual project. This is a piece of written
work based on personal research involving the
collection, analysis and evaluation of data. Each
project must contain a title, a statement of the
task and plan, measurements, information or data
that have been collected and/or generated, an
analysis of the measurements, information or
data, interpretation of results, including a
discussion of validity, and appropriate notation
and terminology. (20 marks)

Unit 2:
Macroeconomics
Written assignment-- internal
First analytical essay; students choose a current events
article about economics related to the Macroeconomics
unit and write a commentary. Commentary must be no
more than 750 words.
Written assignment-- internal
Second analytical essay; students choose a current events
article about economics related to either unit (International
Economics or Growth and Development) and write a
commentary. Commentary must be no more than 750
words.

Second analytical essay; students choose a current events
article about economics related to the Microeconomics unit
and write a commentary. Commentary must be no more
than 750 words.
Paper 1: Micro and Macroeconomics
Paper 2: International and Developmental Economics
Paper 3: All Units – economic calculations
Papers require written and graphical responses to multipart questions. While each paper has a primary unit focus,
all papers draw on elements from all four units. Papers
may also require analysis of sources, articles and data in
the application of economic concepts. In most papers,
students are given a choice of several questions.
All commentaries
