BIN DUTY
Monday: No Bin Collection Canteen Day
Wednesday: Red Bins every fortnight, please check roster Canteen Day
Friday: Green and Blue Bins Canteen Day
Place THREE black bins outside at lunchtime, one by the canteen
landing and steps and one down near the seats, the other in the eating area
outside the discovery centre (On Canteen Days).
Students should be eating in the classroom (we have a nude food policy, Nude Food Day is
on Thursday, please encourage every day to be a nude food day). Bins should not be needed on
the other days.
After lunch clean up any rubbish from the canteen area, sorting out recyclables where possible.
YOU MAY ALSO NEED TO WALK AROUND THE PLAYGROUND AND PICK UP ANY RUBBISH,
PLEASE CHECK THE GARDENS. You will have a class set of tongs and gloves given to you on the
Friday before your duty week.
Empty the canteen bins into the trans waste and have a message put over the P.A.
2.10PM IS A GOOD TIME (this may need to change at times depending on school activities ie
senior sport). Please ask for the bins to be brought to the trans waste.
It may help to take only a few children out with you when on bin duty, ask the teacher from your
neighbouring class to watch your other children. You can repay them when it’s their turn!

MIXED RECYCLABLES GO INTO A BLUE WHEELIE BIN NEAR THE RESOURCE ROOM
COMPOST INTO BOKASHI BINS (COLLECTED BY SENIOR LEADERSHIP GROUP EVERY
TUESDAY)
WHEN SORTING IS COMPLETE CLOSE ALL BINS AND RETURN TO YOUR CLASSROOMS.
The SENIORS will collect rubbish & recycling from the staff room, photocopy room, resource
room, Ms Shalks/Mrs O’Loughlen’s office and office area (Mrs Scrivener, Principal and Vice
Principal). Staffroom may need to be done more often. Senior teachers please keep an eye on
this and ask your students to carry out this duty on a needs basis.
BLUE COUNCIL RECYCLE BINS
Every second week if you are on duty when council bins need to go out, you will need to
organise for these to be placed facing the curbside on Scott Street outside the gate on
Wednesday afternoon for a Thursday pick up. You will also need to bring these two bins in and
place back in the alcove between the discovery centre and the staffroom. Please check that
council have emptied the bins before bringing them in, if not a phone call to council may be
needed( PH 9705 5200). Your class will have been highlighted in blue on the term bin roster.
