Hopefully you all had a wonderful weekend and took a few moments to remember those that we lost on 9/11. It is hard to believe 10 years has passed so quickly. I took some time to think about my life over the past 10 years and was amazed at the changes and blessings that have taken place that might go unnoticed if one doesn’t take the time to reflect. I encourage you to think about your life and the past 10 years and all the good our club has done for not only the local community, but all over the world. Then I want you to think about the next 10 years and all the good we are going to do with your help. Remember, every week is a “Bring a friend to Rotary week”. Also, we need to decide on our annual winter fundraiser very quickly, so if you have any good ideas please let me know…see you all Wednesday! Pres. Beatrice Lee was happy as she and Carol Jule had a great time at a great show on Sunday. Jason Brown was happy that Mike Angel joined us today and that Dr. Mike Barton is here. Freda Brazier ($2) was happy that Dick Weisbart gave Michael & her tickets to see George Wallace. It was a great show. She was happy because Saturday was her grandson’s 1st birthday. Bob Hellriegel was happy because he had a very nice holiday weekend. Sae Lee ($3) was sad because his Cox cable is down at his office. He was happy because he read an article in the newspaper about Mickey Wiedeman’s successful brain aneurysm surgery. Her doctor told her it was inoperable but she found a doctor, an interventional radiologist, who successfully treated her aneurysm. He was also happy because he is running in a 9.10 (k) 9/11 memorial event. He has been practicing. PDG Al Slaggert ($2) spent Labor Day in the emergency room. His tongue and then his airways started to swell so his wife drove him to Centennial Hospital. His blood pressure was 240/110. But he had a lot of fun with the nurses. He had another happy buck because Nancy joined them at a memorable big band concert. And last night they went to Bootlegger where Bruce played the vibraphone. Nancy Beckerbauer was happy because she had a wonderful afternoon. It was an excellent band concert. She thanked Al and Mary Ann. Jason Brown ($5) was said because he had to take his oldest daughter to the orthodontist as she needs braces. His second daughter also needs braces. It will cost him $9,000 between the two of them. * * * * * * * * * * WHERE TO MAKE–UP MONDAY SOUTHWEST LAWRY’S THE PRIME RIB 12:15 PM TUESDAY LV SUMMERLIN TPC SUMMERLIN 7:15 AM FREMONT HUGO’S CELLAR REST. 12:15 PM HENDERSON FIESTA HENDERSON NOON LAS VEGAS WEST CANYON GATE C.C. 12:15 PM MESQUITE NEVADA BANK & TRUST NOON RED ROCK PROVISIONAL – O'Aces Bar & Grill 6:00 PM WEDNESDAY MOAPA OVERTON GYM, OVERTON 6:30 AM CENTENNIAL HILLS SILVERSTONE C.C. 7:15 AM BOULDER CITY ST.
