Micro Planning International Opens In Europe
On the 19th November 2007 and after several months of
strategic planning, Raf Dua and John Cornish announced the release of Micro
Planner X-Pert Version 3.5 for Windows.
Following the retirement of Glynn Nixon, the original founder of Micro
Planning International Ltd (MPI) in the UK, John Cornish, who is based in
Wimborne, Dorset, has taken over and is now the Managing Director at MPI.
John said that after twelve-years of successfully using Micro Planner he was
delighted to be part of a group of MPI companies covering America and
Australia. In his opinion Micro Planner is the “best in class” for accuracy in
project planning and scheduling. In his new role, John is looking forward to
making contact and meeting the many users and potential customers of the
Micro Planner range of products and services. He is contactable at
john@microplanning.co.uk, or telephone +44 (0) 1202 884 690.
MPI also celebrated its thirty years in the project planning software industry at
Kenneth Dibben House in the Southampton Science Park, Chilworth, near
Southampton, UK.

Micro Planner X-Pert, which many regard as the preferred tool for the
professional planner and scheduler has one of the best “algorithms” for
arithmetic scheduling of time, resources and costs.
Because of the reliability and believability of Micro Planner calculations, it has
been used continuously around the globe on multi-million dollar projects in
construction, transport, engineering and defence.
Amongst the many major capital projects in Australia are:

The Athletes’ Village for the 2006 Commonwealth Games and
subsequent refurbishment and extensions to the private homes.

The new Brisbane International Airport

The Sydney International Airport extension

The Latrobe Regional Hospital

The Lady Davidson Hospital Rehabilitation Extensions

Pindara Hospital New Operating Theatre Complex.

Stage 1A Of The Western Corridor Water Recycling Project In
Brisbane Queensland

The F1-11 Aircraft Refurbishment Programme

The Collins Class Submarine Construction Project (1987 – 2003)

The Regional Prisons Development Project in New Zealand
Micro Planner X-Pert for Windows is often selected for its precision in
developing network logic and resource schedules and then its data is
exported into other planning packages as mandated by contractual
documents. Siemens and Infineon (giants in the electronics industry) in
Germany use Micro Planner with many other customers in Austria,
Switzerland and across America.
The second day was open to Micro Planner licensees and guests from local
businesses. Raf Dua, Director at Micro Planning International Asia Pacific Pty
Ltd flew in especially from Australia for the launch and illustrated his
presentations with several case studies of major projects that use Micro
Planner products in Australia and countries around the Pacific Rim.

Peter Eales, MD of oi-solutions with offices in London and Poole said that
Micro Planner X-Pert beats all others, hands down, in terms of “ease-of-use”
for the beginner and yet it delights the professional project manager with its
rich set of features. The true critical path analysis (CPA), the reporting of
earned value performance measurement (EVPM), and cost control reports
impressed Peter, as did the competitive pricing.
Maurice Howell, MD at Team Assist based in Wimborne Dorset, and a highly
respected project manager and lecturer in project management said he found
the Micro Planner presentation very stimulating and rewarding and added that
the software supported “true” project management. Maurice found the
discussions with Raf Dua inspiring and was impressed and re-assured that
the fundamentals of project management were common across all sectors of
business and organisations irrespective of their core competencies and
market sector and were being globally applied in America, Australia and
countries around the Pacific Rim.
John Cornish MD at Micro Planning International Ltd
John Cornish MD at Micro Planning International Ltd., had relied on Micro
Planner for over twelve years when working for a “high tech” electronics
engineering company in Dorset to manage major programmes for multinational companies in UK and Europe, where delivery to specification, on time
and within budget was the norm. John went on to say that his industrial
experience proved that Micro Planner products are “best in class” and a
central reason for supporting MPI today. John is eager to connect with the
many hundreds may be thousands of license holders across Europe.
