The second day was open to Micro Planner licensees and guests from local businesses. Raf Dua, Director at Micro Planning International Asia Pacific Pty Ltd flew in especially from Australia for the launch and illustrated his presentations with several case studies of major projects that use Micro Planner products in Australia and countries around the Pacific Rim. Raf Dua: Preparing for the launch in Kenneth Dibben House. Peter Eales, MD of oi-solutions with offices in London and Poole said that Micro Planner X-Pert beats all others, hands down, in terms of “ease-of-use” for the beginner and yet it delights the professional project manager with its rich set of features. The true critical path analysis (CPA), the reporting of earned value performance measurement (EVPM), and cost control reports impressed Peter, as did the competitive pricing. Maurice Howell, MD at Team Assist based in Wimborne Dorset, and a highly respected project manager and lecturer in project management said he found the Micro Planner presentation very stimulating and rewarding and added that the software supported “true” project management. Maurice found the discussions with Raf Dua inspiring and was impressed and re-assured that the fundamentals of project management were common across all sectors of business and organisations irrespective of their core competencies and market sector and were being globally applied in America, Australia and countries around the Pacific Rim. John Cornish MD at Micro Planning International Ltd John Cornish MD at Micro Planning International Ltd., had relied on Micro Planner for over twelve years when working for a “high tech” electronics engineering company in Dorset to manage major programmes for multinational companies in UK and Europe, where delivery to specification, on time and within budget was the norm.
