Company Information
Each company has been asked to provide a short introduction about themselves at the start of the
presentation
Logica
Logica’s BI practice was formed in 1999 and employs 350 BI consultants in the UK. Business
Intelligence is one of “the top ten Logica strategic focus areas” and as a result they have delivered
over 70 BI solutions to clients. Logica have selected Oracle software explaining, “Whilst Logica is
truly software agnostic, in light of the University’s already extensive Oracle expertise and the very
evident investment in this platform for Portal technology added to our experience of this diverse
suite, this is Logica’s recommended solution.”
SolStonePlus
Founded in the early 1980’s SolStonePlus is “an independent consulting and training company
focussed on the delivery of end-to-end fully integrated BI solutions.” SolStonePlus have been
working with INTO on their IT systems. SolStonePlus have recommended Oracle suit of products
as they believe it “achieves a very high percentage fit to the University’s stated requirements, both
Mandatory and Desirable, and in many cases also exceeds those requirements in terms of
additional functionality available.”
Information Builders
A 33 year old company, founded in the USA, Information Builders claims to be “one of the largest
independent and privately-held software companies in the world”. It operates a UK subsidiary
based in Uxbridge, Middlesex which supports a wide range of customers including:
De Montfort University (reference received)
Corus Group (reference received)
Greater Manchester Police.
This is the only tender where the software and the consultancy are provided by the same company
and so they have recommended the use of their own Webfocus software.
CACI
Founded in the 1975 in the UK, CACI Ltd is a subsidiary of CACI International which is based in the
USA. They are a marketing and information systems solutions company with a dedicated business
unit specialising in BI. They state that their customer base includes:
87 Higher Education customers
109 NHS Trusts
57 Local Authorities.
CACI are recommending Business Objects, who they have been a Platinum partner with for 14
years.

Scoring the Presentations
After the four presentations are completed, all participants will be asked to score the suppliers. With
this in mind, please consider the following questions whilst listening to the presentations:
1) Suitability of the Supplier – Are you confident that you can work with this supplier?
2) Suitability of Software – In the demonstrations, did you think the software was user friendly and
intuitive? Are you confident with software will meet our reporting requirements?
3) Ability to deliver to our requirements – Are you confident the supplier can deliver the type of
system and reports we need?
4) Ranking of preferred supplier – Please rank the suppliers in order of preference.
A short scoring document will be distributed after the final presentation.
