Day 2
Once you have completed the terms and notes you will be give an Asia map. You will then get a
laptop and go to my website http://staff.rentonschools.us/lhs/ckroiss/index.php and open the
“Genghis Khan Maps” document from the World Projects section of Documents.
You may pick one of the maps in the five presented to copy onto your map. These maps vary in
detail and difficulty. Keep in mind I will be more strict on students who pick easier maps than
those who challenge themselves.
To start your map, online and color in all major water features, these are going to be your best
landmarks for directing your map making. By major I mean, all Oceans and Seas, you may need
to look at a map in a textbook to make sure that you have them all.
The Maps must Neatly depict ALL of the conquests presented on the map chosen. You
MUST also label the area conquered and the year it was conquered on your map.
When you have completed drawing in the lines of conquest and labeled your maps, color in the
rest of your map so that it looks similar to the maps you are copying. You may chose different
colors.
TIMELINES
On the side of your Maps you must create a Timeline that either represents the information from
day one OR the dates of conquest from your map. This must also be neat.
Day 3
On the back of your maps, or on a new blank white paper, complete a biography of Genghis
Khan. You should already have the notes for this but it will likely require that you elaborate on
your notes.
Your biography must:
 Be written in complete sentences
 Use all of your terms
 Demonstrate understanding of the content (do not JUST write definitions of terms, tell
me a COMPLETE story of Genghis Khan’s life)
