In this project you will create a map, timeline, and biography for Genghis Khan and his conquests. Day 1 Complete the terms found on p. 345 Define Identify Clan The Seljuk Turks Yurt The Mongols Yasa Genghis Khan Khan Timur Lenk (Tamerlane) Then Begin to take notes that detail the History, Rise, Conquests, and Fall of Genghis Khan and his Empire. pp.342-345 Take at least 2 detailed notes for each Subtitled Section. Be sure to include dates!!! The Steppe People p.342 The Seljuk Turks p.342 Genghis Khan p.343-344 Mongol Conquests p.344 The Mongol Empire p.344-345 Timur Lenk p.345 Go over your notes and create a timeline which details the rise of Khan, his Conquests, and the fall of his Empire. Day 2 Once you have completed the terms and notes you will be give an Asia map. You will then get a laptop and go to my website http://staff.rentonschools.us/lhs/ckroiss/index.php and open the “Genghis Khan Maps” document from the World Projects section of Documents. You may pick one of the maps in the five presented to copy onto your map. These maps vary in detail and difficulty. Keep in mind I will be more strict on students who pick easier maps than those who challenge themselves. To start your map, online and color in all major water features, these are going to be your best landmarks for directing your map making. By major I mean, all Oceans and Seas, you may need to look at a map in a textbook to make sure that you have them all. The Maps must Neatly depict ALL of the conquests presented on the map chosen. You MUST also label the area conquered and the year it was conquered on your map. When you have completed drawing in the lines of conquest and labeled your maps, color in the rest of your map so that it looks similar to the maps you are copying. You may chose different colors. TIMELINES On the side of your Maps you must create a Timeline that either represents the information from day one OR the dates of conquest from your map. This must also be neat. Day 3 On the back of your maps, or on a new blank white paper, complete a biography of Genghis Khan. You should already have the notes for this but it will likely require that you elaborate on your notes.
