Packet contains: sand, poppy seeds, salt, and iron filings

Assignment: separate the mixture and bring each separated substance to class Tuesday in an individual sealed sandwich or snack size baggie. Put your 4 small baggies in 1 large ziplock bag. Write a Half-Page (or Mini) Lab

Summary. This lab summary should go into detail about how exactly you separated each component of the mixture in the bag. Complete sentences and correct grammar is required. Points are taken off if it is illegible. You are allowed to type it on the PC. Total length should be half the page or 3 full sized paragraphs. On the back of your lab summary make a flow chart to show what properties you used in separating each ingredient. Ex: “solubility” is a property whereas “filtering” is a method (how to).

Notes – DO NOT bring any water in your baggie. Thoroughly dry all your substances! DO NOT bring table salt in and lie about that being the salt from your mixture. We have ways of knowing ! 
