The degree plan is the responsibility of the student, in conjunction with the faculty advisor. All students
are responsible for reading and understanding the undergraduate catalog and the degree plan. The
student is responsible for keeping the degree plan current by marking courses completed and updating
any applicable changes. In order to allow time for a complete records check, students should pay the
graduation fee and file an Application for Degree Candidacy, together with a copy of their signed degree
plan, in the Office of the Registrar at least one year or two full semesters, prior to the anticipated
graduation date.
The Department Chair must approve schedules of B.A. students before they register.

Graduation requirements at Midwestern State University include passage of the Writing Proficiency Examination (see
2014-2016 catalog, page x) to be taken after the student has completed 60 hours of course work and before they have
accrued 90 hours. Students failing the exam must pass ENGL 2113 Composition Skills.
