St George’s Hospital is looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Infectious Diseases.
Children are cared for on Pinckney ward (a 15 bedded ward which acts as the regional centre for paediatric infectious diseases and HIV as well as oncology patients, in conjunction with the Royal
Marsden Hospital). The post-holder will provide day to day care to inpatients and children attending as day-attenders. This is a clinically busy and stimulating environment, with specialist nursing support and input from a range of paediatric specialties.
In addition to the Clinical Fello w’s role within the Paediatric Infectious Diseases clinical team, the post will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain experience in managing a range of acute medical conditions across paediatric medicine. The post holder will be working in collaboration and as part of a team including other Clinical Fellows and Registrars in paediatric haematology, oncology, HIV and infectious diseases to care for all inpatients and day-attenders.
The post holder will be included in the Clinical Fellow on-call rota including evening shifts (17:00
–
21:00) on a 1:4 basis, weekend day shifts and weekday A&E shifts. There will be no night duties.
