Secondment Opportunity for 4 Months

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Cardiology nurse to
join our team within the Cardiology Department at Fairfield General Hospital. If you are a registered
nurse with substantial post registration experience and experience in Cardiology Nursing including
experience of working in a senior nursing role (at band 7 minimum), we would like to hear from you.
Enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment to quality service development are essential for this post. You
will be based on the Fairfield General Hospital site supporting and co-ordinating the Integrated
Cardiology Unit. The primary cardiology service is based at Fairfield General with two dedicated
Cardiac Catheter labs which undertake diagnostic procedures and Percutaneous Coronary
Intervention as well as Pacemakers and Complex device implants. The lab is supported by an
integrated day case unit and a 10 bed inpatient Cardiology unit caring for patients with a wide variety
of Cardiac conditions.
The successful applicant must demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills and be
educated to minimum degree level or working towards. He/she must also hold a recognised teaching
qualification e.g. preparation for mentorship and be able to provide evidence of management
training/experience. An in-depth knowledge of cardiology care management and being able to
motivate, influence and support a team to deliver on essentials elements of clinical care and service
delivery which enhances the patient’s experience will be key to this role. You will be able to
demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Clinical Governance issues and strategies to manage
risk.
