An Introduction to the Role of
Bioinformatics in Translational
Medicine
22nd and 23rd July, 2010
Organized by:
Research Cell,
CSM Medical University U.P.,
Lucknow, India
Co-funded by
Department of Biotechnolgy,
New Delhi
Background :
Topics to be covered :
Translational Medicine has been
described as the effective transformation of
information gained from biomedical research
into knowledge that can improve the state of
human health and disease. Achieving the
desired impact of translational medicine
requires
basic
understanding
of
bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is the science
of managing and analyzing biological data
using advanced computing. Translational
Bioinformatics involves the understanding
and use of computational methods for
analysis and interpretation of biomedical data.
Bioinformatics has a promising role in
medical research today. Therefore clinicians,
academicians and researchers will be greatly
benefitted by the concept and tools of
bioinformatics.
