SAMPLE PET SALES CONTRACT
WHEREAS, (breeder), hereinafter called “Seller,” is the owner of a pet (breed)
(sex), further described as:

WHEREAS, (Buyers, hereinafter called “Buyer(s),” is/are desirous of purchasing
the animal described above:
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the sum of (amount), balance payable
upon receipt of dog, the Seller hereby conveys one pet (breed/sex) to Buyer(s) under the
following warranties and conditions and no other warranties or conditions either
expressed or implied.
1. That the above described animal is a purebred dog registerable with the AKC
within 180 days following the date of purchase and that a registration
application or Limited Registration slip has been given to Buyer(s) as of the
date of purchase.
2. That the above described animal may for any reason by returned to Seller
within three days of the time of purchase, and Seller will refund to Buyer(s)
the full amount of the purchase price. Buyer(s) shall assume full
responsibility for the health, anatomical make-up, appearance and
temperament of the above described animal following said three-day period.
Sellers will assume responsibility for extraordinary medical bills due to illness
during the said three day period up to the full purchase price of the dog.
3. In the event any life-altering or crippling congenital faults are found to be
present in the above-described animal, on or before one year of age, the Seller
agrees to replace said animal with one of equal quality. In the instance Seller
is no longer breeding dogs, 50% of the purchase price shall be refunded.
4. That Buyer(s) agree to seek veterinary care within 24 hours if the dog shows
any abnormal symptoms, or this contract will be null and void. Further, that
should a death occur without a specific veterinary diagnosis, Buyers) will
request a necropsy and forward the results to the breeder for her records.
5. In the event the Buyer(s) feels he (they) must dispose of or sell the above
described animal for any reason, Buyer(s) will notify Seller who will have
first option of refusal.
6. That this contract is null and void except for the dog of the above registered
name.
7. That this animal will be spayed/neutered by six months of age unless Seller
has agreed to lift the Limited Registration, and that registrations papers will be
withheld until proof of alteration is received.
